Home is typically understood as the place where one resides. I have lived a nomadic lifestyle since birth—moving from place to place with no sense of a fixed location. Because of this my sense of home is derived from the comfort of familiar things. This project is an exploration in defining home as a non-physical location.
The final piece of this project includes a book and an installation. The book was typeset in two languages, English and Chinese. The installation is the handwritten conclusion on 55 grains of rice, which becomes the last chapter of the book. In order to see the small type, the entire project has to be view with magnify glasses.
